Kindergarteners and first-graders at Hawaii Preparatory Academy will present “American Symbols!” at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
The musical performance, which is free and open to the public, will be hosted at Gates Performing Arts Center on the school’s Upper Campus.
“American Symbols!” is presented in conjunction with the students’ social studies curriculum. HPA Lower School music teacher Georgia Polakova directs.
The fun, patriotic show explores the origin, nature and significance of many of America’s national symbols, documents, songs and landmarks, including the American flag, apple pie, the bald eagle, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, The Star-Spangled Banner, the White House and the memorials dedicated to important individuals and events in the United States’ history.
This is the last in a series of musical productions by HPA Lower School students.
